In Mid-April (through early May), I was taken out of commission by a “cousin” of the parasite that has caused the recent national outbreak (and plethora of memes). It all began four weeks before my commitment to the town Garden Tour and put a full stop to my preparation for it.

Every time I drop a trowel or sink a spade into the soil in my garden, I pull up a few worms, and/or the fascinating, otherworldly white threads of mycelium.
